1998 AJC Thoroughbred Gelding
Approx. 17 hands
SOLD! Congratulations to his new family in Kentucky!!
Chief Blue was sired by the millionaire stallion (now deceased) Chief Honcho. He is a grandson of Chief’s Crown, and a great-grandson of the immortal Secretariat.
Chief has been trail ridden at Mohican State Park, used in parades, shown in local shows and 4H. He leads through water on trail rides and is not spooky. He has been used as a lesson horse for intro level dressage and was a pony on the track for a season. Chief has lead small children around on his back and has been started over fences (although he hasn't been jumped in about a year).
Chief would make an excellent trail horse, family horse, husband horse, or first horse for a teen. He enjoys people and is up to date on vaccinations and coggins (as of March 2009). One fun fact: Chief was featured in a book!
Because he is a very large horse, we do not recommend him for children under the age of 11. However, he is a very kind horse who enjoys the companionship of people. Because he spent many years competitive on the track, we think he would be happiest relaxing as a trail horse or as a pleasure horse for a teenager or adult.
Chief is sound, sane, healthy, and a lot of fun to ride. He loads into the trailer, clips and bathes without problems. Due to the economy we are reducing our herd size, which is why Chief is for sale. Chief is very enjoyable to ride and we are sure he will make someone a wonderful companion.
