About Elusive Acres

Elusive Acres is a private farm situated between Marysville, Ohio, and Urbana, Ohio. We do not have boarders and only maintain a small herd of horses at any given time to give maximum attention and personal care to each. Just like our horses, our clients receive individualized attention specially designed to fit their own unique needs. We limit the number of horses we have for sale at any time to only those we feel are ready for new homes and we limit the number of mares booked to our stallion so as not to exhaust our stallion or the time we like to spend communicating with our clients.

About Kari, owner and operator

Kari has been riding horses since before she could walk.  Although she initially began riding western, she switched to English at the age of 12 and has been riding that way ever since.  She can appreciate a good English horse as well as a good western horse and understand the necessity of both.  For that reason, she feels it is crucial that horses, like humans, to receive training in a variety of disciplines.

Kari graduated from the University of Minnesota with a B.S. in Animal Science (equine emphasis) and from the Ohio State University with an M.S. in Veterinary Preventive Medicine.  She has published several books, articles, and websites about horses and is an active member of several horse organizations and riding clubs.

Kari manages Elusive Acres with the help and love of her husband Aaron, an astrophysicist.
